The Simple Dollar, please read!

This is an awesome article (dated January 18, 2008)! If you aren't a couponer but have been thinking about trying it out or wondering "is it really worth it?" please take a few moments to read it.

Quoted from this article: "Whenever you see a sale item that you also have a coupon for, you’re usually doing quite well and can often get a pretty good item for just pennies – or at least far cheaper than the normal price and usually notably cheaper than the generic version."

This truly is the best time to get a great deal, especially if you combine a coupon with an item that is B1G1 (buy one, get one free). Example: Hunts Ketchup I recently purchased was $1.59, B1G1. This made one 0.79 cents and one 0.80 cents. That in itself is a good deal, however I used a $1.00 off coupon and got one for 0.29 cents and one for 0.30 cents! A little math goes a long way!

Target gives 5 cents credit for using reusable bags!

I found this artilce while searching for different store policies. The article is from October 2009 and says (and I quote) "Target stores across the country are giving customers 5 cents for every reusable bag they use while shopping, in an effort to reduce the number of paper and plastic bags that get thrown away. " I plan to make sure to take my reusable bags in the next time I shop there! Keep in mind, even though it's just a nickel, "every penny saved is a penny earned."

New to blogging & couponing!

Hi and welcome! I've started this blog for all those dedicated couponers out there, especially those in the south! I, as well as many of my friends, are fairly new to couponing, so I thought creating a blog would help us be able to share information about getting started and creating your own coupon system as well as share coupon websites. I'm planning to work on this as much as I can, but please forgive me, I can "coupon" a lot better than I can blog! :) Valerie, my best friend since we were 8 years old, got me started in the coupon game and I quickly became addicted! She said to me just the other day, "I've created a monster!" I've since created a "mini-monster" with a very good friend of mine, Traci. She's hooked just like the rest of us! Along with me, she'll be a main contributor to the blog. She finds the coolest coupons (especially local coupons). I'm hoping Valerie will also be a contributor, she knows a lot of tricks that can save us all a lot of $$$! I'll have to pry some secrets from her and post them here! Check back often and please contact us with any tips you'd like to share on couponing as well as coupon websites and deals. We'll post as often as we can!

Happy Good Friday!
